*Using the latest tyre technology, the new NS-2R boasts massive performance for both road and track. Available in a growing size range from 13” up to 18”, the NS-2R is not a tyre to be overlooked by anybody looking for high performance rubber.<br>

If you are looking at the more road biased NS-2R a 50% track / 50% road tyre, since 2018 the factory only produces the 180 compound, which has been known as a few things over the years (example 195/50R15 82W NANKANG NS-2R 180 – discontinued / 195/50R15 82W NANKANG NS-2R 180 Street – discontinued and the new version in Europe is called 195/50ZR15 86W NANKANG NS-2R 180 street XL) however as there is only one compound produced now and the term ‘street’ gave the impression that it was a road tyre not a track tyre, we have simplified the range to be called 195/50ZR15 86W NANKANG NS-2R XL.

225/45ZR16 93W NANKANG NS-2R XL – a compound match to the 195/50r15 NS-2R
If you are looking for consistency and longevity, the NS-2R may be the tyre for you. The NS-2R 100 is a softer option however we only have it available in the rear size so this may promote understeer if you use the normal compound up front.



The NS-2R is similar to the Yokohama AD08R in the way that it is designed to cope with water as well as being consistent and offering good longevity. In all honesty, the AD08R is slightly softer though.

The question I would ask yourself is the level of track driving you are looking to do, if it is high, I would push the AR-1, if it is 50/50 I would push the NS-2R. At the same time if the car only really gets driven in the dry then the AR-1 will work perfectly, it is road legal however does require heat to work in the wet and the tread design does not allow sufficient water dispersal to cope with standing water.

Nankang's latest MSA approved tyre is here!

The new Nankang AR-1 is available in 13" to 18" with more sizes to be added in the future.
The AR-1 is a faster, more refined track tyre, aimed at the track enthusiast who is hunting lap times. 
With only one compound option and with all tyres being produced with 5.5mm tread depth, the AR-1 is positioning itself in amongst the greats of the track tyre market.
The AR-1 has achieved EU tyre labelling giving it MSA List 1B approval for 2017.
